For example, in the production of lubricating oils, it can smoothly convey high-viscosity base oils and mixed oils containing additive particles. However, pumps like gear pumps may encounter problems such as overload or severe wear under high viscosity conditions.
Low damage to the medium: The rotors exert a small shearing force on the medium during the conveying process, and will not damage the composition and structure of chemical materials such as emulsions. It is suitable for some chemical products that are sensitive to shearing, such as certain polymer emulsions and biological preparations. This is an important feature that distinguishes it from some high-shear pumps.
Energy-saving and efficient: It operates at a low speed but has high efficiency, saving more than 30% energy compared with screw pumps and gear pumps. It can effectively reduce the energy consumption cost in chemical production. Reliable sealing: Due to the low rotation speed, it is not easy to generate high temperature on the sealing surface, with very little wear and a long service life. It reduces the risk of leakage of chemical materials caused by seal leakage and the equipment maintenance cost. It has obvious advantages when conveying toxic, harmful or expensive chemical media.
Convenient maintenance: There is a wear-resistant bushing in the pump body. The pump casing materials can be selected from high-performance cast iron, ductile iron or stainless steel. The adoption of the MIP design extends the service life of the pump. It is simple to disassemble and assemble, convenient for maintenance and cleaning, and has few vulnerable parts. Disadvantages
Pressure limitation: Generally, the outlet pressure of the emulsion cam rotor pump is relatively low, and it is usually suitable for medium and low-pressure conveying scenarios. If, in chemical production, it is necessary to convey materials to equipment with relatively high pressure or for long-distance conveying and it is necessary to overcome relatively large resistance, a multi-stage pump or other high-pressure pumps may be required to achieve this.
Limited flow range: Although it can precisely control the flow rate, the overall flow range is relatively smaller compared with some large centrifugal pumps. For some links in large-scale chemical production that require large flow rate conveying, it may not be able to meet the demand alone, and multiple pumps need to be operated in parallel or other large flow rate pumps need to be selected.
Materials and cost: In order to meet the requirements such as the corrosiveness of chemical media, the cost of emulsion cam rotor pumps manufactured with special materials is relatively high. For example, when conveying strongly corrosive acid and alkali media, it is necessary to select corrosion-resistant alloys or engineering plastics and other materials, which will significantly increase the price of the pump and increase the equipment procurement cost of chemical enterprises.
Large floor space: Compared with some compact small chemical pumps, the volume and floor space of the emulsion cam rotor pump are relatively large. In the case of limited space in the chemical workshop, it may have a certain impact on the layout and installation.
