A metering pump, also known as a fixed-displacement pump or a proportional pump, is a special positive displacement pump that can meet the needs of various strict technological processes. Its flow rate can be steplessly adjusted within the range of 0 - 100% and it is used to transport liquids (especially corrosive liquids).

Working Principle


The motor drives the worm through the coupling and decelerates the main shaft and the eccentric wheel to make rotary motion through the worm gear. The eccentric wheel drives the bow-shaped connecting rod to make reciprocating motion in the sliding adjustment seat. When the plunger moves towards the back dead center, a vacuum is gradually formed in the pump chamber, the suction valve opens, and the liquid is sucked in. When the plunger moves towards the front dead center, the suction valve closes and the discharge valve opens at this time, and the liquid is discharged as the plunger moves further. In the reciprocating cycle operation of the pump, continuous pressurized and metered liquid is discharged.

Structural Composition


It mainly consists of three parts: the motor, the transmission box, and the cylinder block. The components of the transmission box are composed of the worm gear mechanism, the stroke adjustment mechanism, and the crank-link mechanism. The components of the cylinder block are composed of the pump head, the suction valve group, the discharge valve group, the plunger, and the packing seal.

Classification Methods


  • According to the flow passage parts: It can be divided into plunger and piston type, mechanical diaphragm type, and hydraulic diaphragm type.

  • According to the driving mode: It can be divided into motor-driven and electromagnetic-driven.

  • According to the working mode: There are reciprocating type, rotary type, and gear type.

  • According to the pump characteristics: It includes extra-large base, large base, medium base, small base, micro base, etc. There are also electronically controlled type, pneumatically controlled type, heat-insulating type, heating type, high-viscosity type, etc.

Main Features


  • Superior performance. The diaphragm metering pump has absolutely no leakage, high safety performance, and precise metering and transportation. The flow rate can be arbitrarily adjusted within the range from zero to the maximum rated value, and the pressure can be arbitrarily selected within the range from normal pressure to the maximum allowable value.

  • The adjustment is intuitive and clear. It works stably, has no noise, is small in size, light in weight, convenient for maintenance, and can be used in parallel.

  • There are a wide variety of types and complete performance. It is suitable for transporting substances within the temperature range from -30 degrees Celsius to 450 degrees Celsius, with a viscosity ranging from 0 to 800 mm/s. The maximum discharge pressure can reach 64 MPa, the flow rate range is from 0.1 to 20,000 liters per hour, and the metering accuracy is within ±1%.

  • The flow rate can be adjusted manually and by frequency conversion, and remote control and computer automatic control can also be realized.

Application Fields


It is widely used in various industrial fields such as petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food, electric power, water treatment, etc., and is used for quantitatively transporting various chemical additives, liquid medicines, food additives, etc.
