Main Types
Gear Oil Pump: It has a simple structure, is small in size, operates stably and reliably, and allows for high rotational speeds. It is suitable for transporting high-temperature viscous liquids, dilute or thick suspended liquids, and floating liquids. The medium viscosity range is 0.02 - 15 PaS, and the temperature is ≤ 300 °C. It is widely used in transporting asphalt in the road construction industry and other fields. The tooth profile is of involute spur gears. The pump body is equipped with a heat preservation jacket, which can use steam or heat transfer oil circulation for heat preservation and can work normally in an environment below zero degrees Celsius.
Screw Oil Pump: It has good transport performance, stable flow rate, and strong self-priming ability. It is commonly used in fields such as oil extraction, shipping, and environmental protection, and also has certain advantages when transporting high-viscosity asphalt.
Plunger Pump: It has a strong transport capacity, good sealing performance, and a wide range of applications. It is widely used in industries such as chemical engineering, food, and pharmaceuticals, and is also used for asphalt transportation in some cases.
Centrifugal Pump: It has a compact structure, operates smoothly, and has low noise. It is a commonly used pump type in fields such as petroleum, chemical engineering, electric power, and municipal engineering. In asphalt transportation, it is more suitable for situations where low-viscosity asphalt needs to be transported or a large flow rate is required.
Structural Features
Equipped with Heating Device: Since asphalt has a relatively high viscosity at room temperature and may even solidify, asphalt oil pumps are usually equipped with heating jackets or adopt heat preservation structures. Steam, hot water or heat transfer oil can be introduced to heat and preserve the temperature of the pump body and the transported asphalt, ensuring that the asphalt maintains good fluidity during transportation.
Wear-Resistant and Corrosion-Resistant Materials: The parts that come into contact with asphalt are made of wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant materials to resist the wear and corrosion of the pump body caused by impurities and additives in the asphalt and extend the service life of the pump.
Good Sealing Performance: It has a good sealing structure to prevent asphalt leakage, reducing environmental pollution and damage to equipment.
Application Fields
Road Construction and Maintenance: In asphalt mixing plants, it is used to transport heated asphalt from storage tanks to mixing equipment to mix with aggregates to produce asphalt mixtures; at construction sites, it is used to transport asphalt mixtures to pavers or distributors for pavement paving or spraying operations.
Petrochemical Industry: It is used to transport viscous oil products such as crude oil, heavy oil, and residue oil, as well as to transport asphalt products during the oil refining process.
Building Waterproofing: In building waterproofing projects, it is used to transport asphalt waterproofing materials, such as asphalt coating in the production process of waterproof rolls and asphalt spraying in roof waterproofing construction.
Other Fields: It can also be applied in fields such as shipping, aviation, and aerospace, providing reliable liquid transportation solutions for various projects.
Precautions for Installation and Use
Installation Location: It should be installed on a stable and solid foundation, and ensure that the surrounding environment is clean with no debris piled up. During installation, attention should be paid to ensuring that the arrow on the valve body is in the same direction as the flow direction of the medium. It should not be installed in places where there is direct dripping or splashing water, and the asphalt heat preservation pump is usually installed vertically upward.
Pipeline Connection: When connecting pipelines, it is necessary to ensure that the inside of the pipelines is clean and free of impurities to avoid foreign objects entering the pump body. The diameter of the pipeline should match the inlet and outlet diameters of the pump, and the connection should be well sealed to prevent leakage.
Power Supply Requirements: Ensure that the power supply voltage is stable and that it can work normally within the range of 15% - 10% fluctuation of the rated voltage.
Preheating and Startup: Before startup, it is necessary to preheat the pump body and pipelines to make the asphalt reach a suitable flow temperature. When starting up, the heating device should be turned on first. After the asphalt is fully melted and has good fluidity, the motor can be started. It is strictly prohibited to forcibly start the pump when the asphalt is in a solidified state.
Operation and Maintenance: Regularly check the operating status of the pump, including parameters such as temperature, pressure, and vibration. If there is any abnormality, the pump should be stopped immediately for inspection. Regularly clean the filter to prevent impurities from clogging the filter screen and affecting the normal operation of the pump. Meanwhile, the pump should be maintained according to the specified time and requirements, and worn parts should be replaced.
