Structure and Principle


Structure: Rotary piston pumps are generally composed of components such as the pump body, rotary piston, shaft, bearings, and sealing devices. The rotary piston usually presents special shapes, such as elliptical, trilobal, etc. It is eccentrically installed inside the pump body and forms sealed chambers together with the inner wall of the pump body.


Working Principle: When the drive shaft drives the rotary piston to rotate, the volume of the sealed chambers between the piston and the pump body will change periodically. On the suction side, the volume of the chambers increases, forming a low-pressure area. Petroleum enters the chambers under the action of atmospheric pressure or inlet pressure. As the piston rotates, the volume of the chambers gradually decreases, the petroleum in the chambers is compressed, the pressure rises, and the petroleum is squeezed out of the pump body at the discharge side, thus realizing the continuous transportation of petroleum.


Features


Stable Flow and Pressure: It can provide relatively stable flow and pressure output, reduce fluctuations during the transportation process, and is suitable for petroleum transportation and processing processes with higher requirements for flow and pressure control.


Strong Self-priming Ability: It has good self-priming performance and can automatically suck in petroleum at startup without the need for external auxiliary devices. It is especially suitable for extracting petroleum from low-level containers such as underground oil tanks or oil ponds.


Adaptability to High Viscosity Media: It can efficiently transport high-viscosity petroleum and its products, such as heavy oil, crude oil, etc., and is not prone to blockages or significant drops in flow rate.


Good Sealing: Effective sealing structures and sealing materials are adopted to prevent petroleum leakage, reduce the risk of environmental pollution, and at the same time ensure the working efficiency and safety of the pump.


Low Shear Force: It has a relatively small shearing effect on petroleum, can reduce the impact on the molecular structure and performance of petroleum, and is suitable for transporting petroleum products that are sensitive to shear.


Application Areas


Petroleum Extraction: It is used to extract crude oil from oil wells. Whether it is onshore or offshore oil wells, it can give play to its advantages of strong self-priming ability and adaptability to high-viscosity media to transport crude oil to ground treatment facilities.


Petroleum Refining: In refineries, it can be used to transport raw materials such as crude oil, heavy oil, and residue oil, as well as various intermediate products and finished oil products, such as gasoline, diesel, and lubricating oil, ensuring the stable transportation of oil products during the refining process.


Petrochemical Industry: In the petrochemical production process, it is used to transport various petrochemical raw materials and products, such as aromatics, olefins, polymers, etc., to meet the requirements of material transportation in complex chemical processes.
