Check Equipment and Pipes: Check whether the model and specifications of the pump meet the actual requirements and whether it is intact. Ensure that the installation foundation of the pump is firm and level, and the connection with the pump is tight. Meanwhile, ensure that the inlet and outlet pipes are unobstructed and free of blockages, and the connection between the pipes and the pump is tight without leakage.
Ensure There Is Medium in the Pump: When starting the pump for the first time or using a pump that has been stored for a long time again, if there is no medium in the pump, an appropriate amount of the medium to be transported should be poured into the inlet cavity of the pump to avoid dry running of the pump and prevent components such as screws from being damaged due to dry friction.
Confirm the State of Valves: Before starting, the inlet and outlet valves must be fully opened to ensure the normal inlet and outlet of oil for the pump and prevent situations such as pressure build-up.
Check Instruments and Electrical Connections: Check whether instruments such as pressure gauges and vacuum gauges at the inlet and outlet of the pump are intact, and ensure that their connections are correct and the displays are normal. At the same time, check whether the power supply of the pump is normal and whether the electrical connections are correct and firm.
Maintain Stable Operating Parameters:
Rotational Speed: The rotational speed of the triple screw pump should be selected appropriately. An excessively high rotational speed will accelerate the wear between the rotor and the stator, resulting in premature failure of the screw pump. Generally, it is more reasonable to keep the rotational speed below 300 revolutions per minute through a reducer or a continuously variable speed mechanism.
Pressure: Keep the outlet pressure constant to avoid overloading the screw pump. A bypass relief valve can be installed at the outlet of the triple screw pump to stabilize the outlet pressure and prevent the pressure from being too high when the outlet end is blocked, which may cause damage such as motor burnout and fracture of transmission parts.
Prevent Debris from Entering the Pump Body: It must be ensured that debris does not enter the pump body to protect the stator of the screw pump from being damaged. Crushing machines, grating devices, or filter screens and other filtering equipment can be installed in front of the pump, and the grating should be cleared or the filter screen should be cleaned in a timely manner to prevent blockages.
Avoid Material Interruption: The triple screw pump is never allowed to operate under the condition of material interruption. Otherwise, the rubber stator will be burned out due to the high temperature generated instantly by dry friction. Ensure that the feeding equipment works normally and maintain the continuous supply of materials.
Pay Attention to the Operating State: Closely monitor the changes in parameters such as the operating sound, vibration condition, inlet and outlet pressures, and temperatures of the pump. If there are abnormal sounds, vibrations, or abnormal increases in pressure and temperature, stop the pump in time for inspection, find the cause, and eliminate the fault before restarting.
