The cam rotor pump is a positive displacement pump with numerous characteristics and a wide range of application fields. The following is a detailed introduction about it:
Working Principle:
The cam rotor pump generates suction (vacuum degree) at the inlet during the rotation process by relying on two rotors that rotate synchronously in opposite directions. The two rotors divide the rotor chamber into several small spaces. Driven by the transmission shaft, they rotate in the opposite direction. After the medium is sucked into these small spaces, it is conveyed to the outlet along with the rotation of the rotors, thus generating a relatively high discharge pressure. Through such repeated cycles, the transportation of liquid is achieved. Its flow rate only depends on the change value of the working chamber volume and its change frequency within a unit time, and is theoretically independent of the discharge pressure.
Product Characteristics:
Strong Self-priming Ability: It can form a vacuum within a short period of time, generating a relatively strong self-priming ability. There is no need for additional priming operations. It is very suitable for some scenarios where frequent start-stop is required or there is a certain difficulty in sucking in the medium.
Wear Resistance: The rotors are usually coated with special rubber materials or other wear-resistant materials. The high-precision clearance fit between the rotors and the pump body not only reduces friction loss but also improves the tolerance to various complex media, resulting in a long service life.
Non-clogging: It can allow soft solids and tiny particles of a certain volume to pass through, having good permeability for media containing impurities and being not prone to clogging.
Smooth Operation: The double-rotor structure and reasonable design make the pump operate relatively smoothly during the operation process, with relatively small vibrations and noises.
Capable of Transporting High-viscosity Media: For high-viscosity liquids such as heavy oil, asphalt, and glue, the cam rotor pump can effectively transport them with a relatively high transportation efficiency.
Application Fields:
Petrochemical Industry: It can be used to transport crude oil, heavy oil, thick oil, fuel oil, polymers, suspended solids, latex, and gas-water-solid mixtures, etc., playing an important role in the processes of oil exploration, storage, and transportation.
Municipal Field: It is suitable for metering lime slurry, activated carbon, flocculant, as well as transporting primary sludge, concentrated sludge, digested sludge, precipitated sludge, scum, and dewatered sludge cakes, etc.
Fire-fighting Field: The characteristics of strong self-priming and high lift make it suitable for long-distance water source fire-fighting water intake from rivers and lakes.
Paper-making Industry: It can transport pulp, suspension, printing and dyeing slurry, coating, fiber, ink, viscose liquid, etc.
Food Industry: It is used to transport jam, dairy products, fiber syrup, syrup, food raw materials, stock solution, etc., and can also be used for vacuum suction, backwashing, pickling, and sediment discharge.
Pharmaceutical Industry: It can transport liquid medicine, pharmaceutical raw material liquid, etc., meeting the strict requirements for medium transportation in the pharmaceutical manufacturing process.
Maintenance:
Regular Inspection: It includes checking whether there are signs of leakage, corrosion, etc. on the appearance of the pump, as well as the wear condition of internal components such as rotors and the state of seals. Meanwhile, it is necessary to ensure that the parts that need lubrication, such as bearings, are well lubricated.
Component Replacement: According to the inspection results, replace the worn or damaged components in a timey manner, such as severely worn rotors, aged seals, etc., to ensure the performance and efficiency of the pump.
Cleaning and Anti-corrosion: After transporting media that are prone to solidification, crystallization, or corrosion, clean the pump in a timey manner to prevent the residue of the media from causing corrosion or blocking the pump. For pumps that have not been used for a long time, take proper anti-corrosion measures.
