Handling methods and usage precautions for leakage faults in circular arc gear pumps

Publication time:2024-08-09

Circular arc gear pump is an energy conversion machine that transfers the mechanical energy of the driving force or a certain liquid to the conveyed liquid, increasing its energy. If we look at the history of the circular arc gear pump, in ancient times it was just a tool to change the potential energy of liquids. However, with the development of science and technology, the types of pumps have also been increasing, and various types of pumps have been widely used in various fields. Currently, they are more commonly used in the industrial field.

The leakage of the circular arc gear pump needs to be well treated to avoid affecting its use. The wear of internal parts of the circular arc gear pump can cause internal leakage. The leakage area between the floating shaft sleeve and the gear end face is large, which is the main part causing internal leakage. This part of the leakage accounts for about 50% to 70% of the total internal leakage. The volumetric efficiency of the gear pump with worn internal leakage decreases, and the output power of the circular arc gear pump is much lower than the input power. All of its losses are converted into heat energy, which can cause overheating of the gear pump. If the joint plane is tightly pressed, the floating shaft sleeve may experience slight movement during operation, causing wear and tear, resulting in slow or impossible lifting of the agricultural tool. Such floating shaft sleeves should be replaced or repaired.

The circular arc gear pump gear is manufactured with a double circular arc sine curve tooth profile. Compared with involute gears, its outstanding advantage is that there is no relative sliding of the tooth profile during the gear meshing process, so the tooth surface is not worn, the operation is smooth, there is no liquid phenomenon, low noise, long service life, and high efficiency. This pump breaks free from the constraints of traditional design, allowing gear pumps to enter a new field in design, production, and use.

The pressure of the circular arc gear pump is ultimately reflected in the head. In theory, as long as the strength of the components and the energy of the driving equipment of the circular arc gear pump are sufficient, the infusion can reach the desired height. However, due to the clearance between the gear and the pump body (the clearance on the inner side of the pump casing is 0.04~0.1mm, and the radial clearance is 0.1~0.15mm), when the head is increased to a certain extent, liquid backflow will occur, and the head will decrease, that is, the pressure will drop. Therefore, the reason for the lack of pressure is that anything that can increase the side clearance and radial clearance is the reason for the lack of pressure.
